Jerry Believes Ware's Ready to Return

DeMarcus Ware has missed the past three games with a strained quad

If owner and general manager Jerry Jones is correct, the Dallas Cowboys much maligned defensive front will get a boost on Sunday night.

Jones told 105.3-FM The Fan on Tuesday that he expects seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end/outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware to return from a strained quad against the Saints.

A lot of this soft tissue injury, these muscle pulls, there’s a decision,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “It’s sensitive but the player can still play, but there’s risk that he could re-injure it. That’s the key. It’s when you have to make that ambiguous decision almost ... but you have to make a tough decision as to when to really put the stress on the muscle or on the injury situation. I think he’s ready.”

Ware has missed the past three games with the quad issue, the first time in his career he’s missed time due to an injury. In the six games before suffering the strain, Ware had 19 tackles, four sacks and an interception.
