Jenkins: “You Can't Sleep on” Romo

Mike Jenkins spent five seasons as a teammate of Tony Romo

Oakland Raiders cornerback Mike Jenkins played five seasons with Tony Romo in Dallas, battling with the Cowboys signal caller on a daily basis at Valley Ranch. Speaking to reporters this week, it was apparent that Jenkins left Dallas with great admiration for Romo.

Everything I see from Romo is beautiful,” Jenkins said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I think Romo is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. There’s a lot of guys outside the franchise who have their own opinions on him or bring up interceptions or bring up bad decisions, whatever it may be that’s written. I disagree with a lot of that stuff because I know what type of guy he is on the field. I know he’s smart. ... I know everything about him. He’s definitely one of those quarterbacks you can’t sleep on or you’ll have a long day.”

Thursday will mark the first time Jenkins has faced Romo in a game. Through 11 games as a Raider, Jenkins has 55 tackles and an interception.
