Jay Ratliff Targeting Ravens Game For Return

Ratliff is reportedly on track to return in week six against Baltimore

All-Pro nose tackle Jay Ratliff hasn’t played a snap for the Cowboys in 2012, but as the team wraps up the first quarter of their season, we at least have a target date for his return. That would be on October 14 against the Ravens, the Cowboys’ first game on the other side of their week five bye.

This means that against Chicago on Monday night, the 2-1 Cowboys will once again turn to Josh Brent to anchor the middle of the defensive front--and while Dallas won’t downplay the importance of Ratliff to the defense, they’ve been impressed by Brent’s work in his absence.

He’s done a good job,’’ said head coach Jason Garrett, per the Dallas Morning News. “Obviously Jay Ratliff is one of the best players at his position in the league and has been for a number of years. We certainly miss him.

“But it’s great to see a guy like Josh step up.’’
