Jay Ratliff Misses Another Practice With Bum Ankle

Ratliff has not practiced since suffering a sprained ankle in the loss to the Falcons

It’s beginning to look as though the Cowboys will be without the services of All-Pro nose tackle Jay Ratliff when they take on the Eagles in Philadelphia this Sunday afternoon.

Ratliff suffered a sprained ankle in the first half of last week’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, but was able to return and finish the game.

However, he missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, usually (but not always) a pretty good indicator that a player will be held out. According to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, Ratliff took the field with the team on Thursday but headed back to the locker room before the team went into their stretching lines.

It is worth noting that the sprain is in the same left ankle that forced Ratliff to miss the first four games of the 2012 regular season. That injury, the dreaded high ankle sprain, came in his only appearance in the preseason and, before that, he missed the entire offseason with a case of plantar fasciitis.
