Jason Hatcher Added to Pro Bowl Roster

Hatcher will replace Ravens' nose tackle Haloti Ngata

On Wednesday, Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher welcomed his fourth child, a son. On Thursday, he was named to his first Pro Bowl. Hatcher called it the best 24 hours of his life.

“I’m so emotional right now,” Hatcher tweeted on Thursday, via the Dallas Morning News. “This [has] been the best 24 hours of my life, a baby boy and a Pro Bowl. God is good!”

Hatcher, who replaces Baltimore Ravens nose tackle Haloti Ngata, is one of three Cowboys to earn a Pro Bowl nod. Like his mates, wide receiver Dez Bryant and left tackle Tyron Smith, this is Hatcher’s first time to earn the honor.

“Thank you to all my fans for voting for me,” Hatcher tweeted. “It’s an honor and a privilege.”

Hatcher recorded a career- and team-high 11 sacks, 33 quarterback pressures and two forced fumbles in 2013, a contract year. He will very likely depart this offseason as an unrestricted free agent, as his asking price is at an all-time high, and the Cowboys are once again dealing with cap issues.
