Jags Sign Martin Rucker Off Cowboys Practice Squad

The Dallas Cowboys lost tight end Martin Rucker on Tuesday to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who pilfered Rucker from the Cowboys practice squad.

Rucker was selected in the fourth round of the 2008 Draft out of the University of Missouri by the Cleveland Browns. He had a short stint with the Philadelphia Eagles before joining the Cowboys in 2010, where he has been ever since.

With Dallas, Rucker was mostly a practice squad guy, but he was promoted to the active roster in December of last year, and started the 2011 roster on the active roster as Martellus Bennett struggled to return from an injury. Since the Jags got him off the practice squad, he will immediately join their 53 man roster.

Meanwhile, with a spot open on the practice squad, the team may attempt to bring back receiver/return man Dwayne Harris, who was cut on Tuesday to make room for guard Daniel Loper. In order to do this, though, Harris will have to clear waivers.
