Jack Crawford Liking Life on the Inside

Crawford has always been listed as a defensive end but he's mostly worked from the interior in camp this year

Listed as a defensive end, Jack Crawford is seeing a good amount of time at defensive tackle in training camp, and he’s not opposed to it. He played some defensive tackle last year, and took to it quite well.

"In this system it's the best position to be in on the defensive line," Crawford said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. "Coach Marinelli, he allows a lot of versatility but there's also like a lot of responsibility for the under tackle. It's a good position to be in. You use your speed a lot."

Crawford posted two sacks in six games before going down with a thumb injury that required season-ending surgery last season, his first with the Cowboys after spending two years with the Raiders. After the addition of Greg Hardy and Randy Gregory to the defensive line group this offseason, and the return of DeMarcus Lawrence, the move inside certainly makes some sense.

Asked if Crawford was a defensive tackle this week, head coach Jason Garrett said, “Yeah, mostly.”
