With the Dallas Cowboys up against the salary cap once again going into this offseason, it’s quite likely that Miles Austin has seen his last snap as a member of “America’s Team.”

With the latest 2014 cap projection at about $127 million, the Cowboys will enter the free agency period around $25 million over the cap. Jettisoning the oft-injured Austin--who was signed to a six-year, $57 million extension back in 2010--the Cowboys will take a good chunk out of that figure.

Wide receiver Miles Austin figures to be a June 1 casualty, which will open up $5.5 million in space, but would carry more than $5 million in dead money in 2015. Most of that money will be used to sign the draft picks.”

If this does mark the end of Austin’s run in Dallas, he finishes with 301 receptions for 4,481 yards and 34
