Is Laurent Robinson As Good As Gone?

Robinson says he loves Dallas, but it's looking more and more likely that he'll depart in free agency

Cowboys’ free agent wide receiver Laurent Robinson continues to maintain that he’d like to return to Dallas, but as free agency picks up, it’s looking more and more doubtful that he will.

Robinson is currently in Jacksonville in his home state of Florida, visiting the Jaguars--and they’re hardly the only team to express serious interest in the Cowboys’ breakout star of 2011. The San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins are all interested as well.

This is what happens when you emerge from obscurity to lead the Dallas Cowboys in receiving touchdowns with 11--this in a season that began with Robinson being cut by the Chargers, his third team in five seasons.

Now Robinson is the belle of the ball that is free agency, and despite his stated desire to return, it’s hard to imagine Robinson walking away from his big payday to return to a no. 3 role with Dallas--and earning no. 3 money--behind Dez Bryant and Miles Austin.

"I love it in Dallas, and I had great success here last year," Robinson said recently, per the Dallas Morning News. "I'm going to feel them out and see what's going on."
