Irvin: “I Would've Gotten Dan Marino His Ring”

Michael Irvin believes if he had played for the Dolphins, Dan Marino would have a Super Bowl ring

Dan Marino accomplished just about everything a quarterback can in his 17-year Hall of Fame career, aside from winning a Super Bowl. Fellow Hall of Famer Michael Irvin believes this wouldn’t be the case if he had been a Dolphin.

I would have gotten Dan Marino his ring,” Irvin told the the Palm Beach Post. “Bar none. Make no mistake about that. He’s the only guy in my room, my man cave, without a ring. That’s how much I love him.”

This is a loaded statement, but to Irvin’s credit, there’s no way of proving him wrong. Marino made it to the Super Bowl just once, in 1984--he and the Dolphins lost to Joe Montana and the 49ers--four years before Irvin entered the league.
