Introducing Alex Daniels

Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, meet Alex Daniels. He’s the fellow harassing Tim Tebow in that picture right there, and he’s also the newest member of the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad.

Now a fullback, Daniels served as a defensive end at Cincinnati, which explains the photograph. Before that, he spent time at the University of Minnesota, and this is where he got some experience as a fullback, as well as at running back and linebacker.

Daniels was impressive at the combine, running a 4.73-second 40-yard dash, posting a 36-inch vertical, and repping out 225 pounds 31 times on the bench press. Which is to say, Daniels is an athlete.

That said, he wasn’t selected in April’s draft, but was picked up by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent shortly thereafter. It was there that Daniels was converted from defensive end to fullback. He was waived as part of an injury settlement with the Raiders on September 13.

On Tuesday, he was signed by Dallas after participating in a workout at Valley Ranch.

His favorite color is blue, and he prefers the early episodes of "Saved By The Bell"--after the Ms. Bliss episodes but before Tori replaced Kelly Kapowski (probably).

So, uh, that’s Alex Daniels.
