Hatcher Says He'll Play in New Orleans

Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher suffered a stinger in the fourth quarter of the win over the Lions

The last remaining healthy, true starter on the Dallas Cowboys defensive line, defensive tackle Jason Hatcher suffered a stinger in Sunday’s victory over the Lions at AT&T Stadium. Hatcher had to leave the game when he went down in the fourth quarter, but he says he’ll be ready to go when the Cowboys head to New Orleans for a Sunday Night matchup with the Saints this week.

“I got a stinger. I was going to make a play and (linebacker) Ernie Sims kind of knocked the crap out of me, but I’ll be OK,” Hatcher said, per the team’s official website. “The strength is coming back--it’s just one of those things, you’ve got to cautious with it. So I’ll probably have to put a big neck roll on it next week to kind of protect it. But I’ll be OK.”

Hatcher has been dealing with stinger issues since back on October 6. He hasn’t missed any time, and is actually putting together a career year, with 29 tackles (four tackles for a loss), seven sacks, a forced fumble and three passes broken up through nine games.
