For the sixth straight year, Charles Haley has been named among the finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Perhaps the most feared pass rusher of his day, Haley believes he is deserving of the honor--and we’re inclined to agree.
“If it takes me passing away and my kid stepping up for me, I’m good with that,” Haley told the NFL Network, via ESPN. “Because I’m going to be looking down from heaven going, ‘Yeah, I could have told you I was worthy.’”
Haley’s resume is certainly impressive enough. He is the only player in history with five Super Bowl rings--he won two with the San Francisco 49ers and three with the Dallas Cowboys--and finished his career with 100.5 sacks in 12 seasons.
