Gregory Fine Physically, Still Working to Get Back Mentally

Randy Gregory missed six weeks with a high ankle sprain

Randy Gregory says he’s 100 percent back from the high ankle sprain that kept him sidelined for six weeks, from a physical standpoint. But he’s still working back from a mental standpoint.

I’m still trying to trust my leg that it’ll be alright,” Gregory told the team’s official website. “If I make this cut, even though it may sting a little bit, I’m going to be alright--it’s not going to be an injury. It’s just real mental with me.”

Gregory has been back for two games now, but he only played 18 snaps in those games.

The good news is that, the best way to get back mentally is to practice, and Gregory has been doing that. By his own estimation, he had his busiest day of work in recent memory on Wednesday.

“That’s one of the things the coaches have talked to me about over the weekend and today, coming out here and having a good practice,” Gregory said. “I think I had a real good practice--I think I had one of the best padded practices I’ve had in a while. I got a lot of reps as far as pass rush and things like that, and it felt fine.”
