Garrett, Romo, Witten Root for Duke in Win Over Gonzaga

The three Cowboys were in Houston on Sunday for Duke's Elite 8 win over Gonzaga

Earlier this month, Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett visited Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke basketball team in Durham, North Carolina with quarterback Tony Romo, tight end Jason Witten and then-running back DeMarco Murray. The group watched the team practice, posed for pictures, and played some basketball at the famed Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Almost a month later, it seems that trip made Duke fans out of the group.

Murray is an Eagle now, and thus less likely to pal around with his old teammates, at least in public. But Garrett, Romo and Witten made the trip down to Houston on Sunday to watch the Blue Devils defeat Gonzaga to advance to the Final Four.

Coach K and co. certainly weren’t wanting for any celebrity support as they cruised to the 66-52 win over the Bulldogs. Aside from the Cowboys, 41st President George H.W. Bush was there to root for Duke along with his wife, former First Lady Barbara Bush.

No word on whether Garrett, Romo and Witten plan on making the trip to Indianapolis for Duke’s Final Four matchup with the Michigan State Spartans next weekend.
