Garrett: “Quarterbacks Are Certainly on the Table for Us”

The Cowboys own the No. 4 overall pick in the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett appeared on ESPN’s NFL Live on Thursday, where he said a whole lot about the quarterback situation without really saying much at all, a classic Garrett move.

Garrett told his hosts that drafting a quarterback is certainly on the table, then mentioned several other positions of need that are on the table as well.

"I think it goes back to the evaluations of the players,” Garrett said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Quarterbacks are certainly on the table for us, as are defensive linemen, linebackers, DBs and all the different positions on offense. You just want to bring a quality football player in who can help your team for a long, long time.”

Garrett then gave a vague assessment of the quarterbacks already on the roster.

"You always want a developmental quarterback on your roster,” Garrett said. “So right now Tony's our starter. And Kellen Moore is on our roster, who's a young player, and Jameil Showers, who's a free-agent quarterback for us. That's all we have right now, so certainly the draft will be a big part of it. The biggest thing is to get Tony healthy, keep developing Kellen, and just see where we are, if we like any of these guys in the draft.”
