Garrett Hasn't Spoken To Dez Since Nightclub Incident

Dez Bryant was reportedly detained by Miami Beach police after an altercation at a nightclub last week

Dez Bryant’s offseason didn’t get off to the start he, or, we imagine, the team would’ve hoped, when he was detained at a Miami Beach nightclub last Sunday night for his involvement in a minor altercation. Bryant was not arrested, and the whole incident went away pretty quickly, but the fact that it made headlines at all won’t help Bryant’s reputation in the minds of some fans as having maturity issues.

As for head coach Jason Garrett, as of last week, he said he has not spoken to Bryant about the incident.

"I have not spoken to him since then," Garrett said, per the Dallas Morning News. "People in our organization have."

Last year, Bryant ran into a few issues off the field, including a pair of lawsuits and a criminal trespass warning at a Dallas mall--all issues that have reportedly been settled since then, but enough to give Bryant the aforementioned reputation in the eyes of at least some.

"We want to make sure all of our players do the things the right way 365 days out of the year," Garrett said. "But we understand the nature of the position we're all in and we have to be careful and handle things the right way. But we certainly support him in everything that he does."
