Garrett Admits It'll Be Hard to Replace Dwayne Harris

The Dallas Cowboys lost receiver and special teams ace Dwayne Harris to the New York Giants in free agency this offseason and they’re well aware that finding a replacement for the East Carolina product, finding someone who can do all that Harris did, is going to be very difficult.

“We might not be able to find one guy to do all those different things,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said recently, per ESPN Dallas.

A sixth round pick by the Cowboys in 2011, Harris returned two punts for touchdowns in his four seasons in Dallas, and was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week three times over the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Those two seasons also saw all three of Harris’ receiving touchdowns as a member of the Cowboys.

Harris was also a crucial part of the coverage units, leading the team in special teams tackles in each of the past two seasons.

“Great returner, cover guy. Leads our team in tackles. Has a role on offense,” Garrett said of Harris. “Willing to do anything. All the dirty work, very valuable role for us.”
