G Brandon Moore Decides Not to Join Cowboys

Moore will reportedly retire to spend more time with his family

Free agent offensive guard Brandon Moore had verbally agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday night, but according to a report in the Dallas Morning News, Moore had a sudden change of heart early Wednesday morning and told Dallas he wouldn’t be joining the team after all.

Instead, Moore plans on retiring to spend more time with his family.

The 33-year-old Moore has played 11 seasons in the league and, most recently, played for the Jets. He’s probably most memorable for providing the butt that caused Mark Sanchez’s always-infamous “butt-fumble.” last year, in a loss to the New England Patriots.

The Cowboys have also spoken to veteran (and University of North Texas product) Brian Waters, but the team has been unable to come to terms with the 36-year-old to this point.

“The biggest thing with Brian right now is he hasn’t played in 18 months,” head coach Jason Garrett said, per the Morning News.
