Former Cowboys Head Coach Is Going To Super Bowl 50

Wade Phillips is going back to the Super Bowl.

Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones fired the man I call "Uncle Wade" after a 1-7 start in 2010.

He landed with Gary Kubiak as his defensive coordinator in Houston from 2011 to 2013.  Kubiak brought him to Denver as his DC this season and it paid off.

The Broncos upset defending champion New England 20-18 in Denver to advance to Super Bowl 50 in the Bay Area.

This will be Phillips second trip to Super Sunday with Denver. He was the Broncos defensive coordinator when they lost Super Bowl XXIV to the 49ers.

Peyton Manning and the offense were decent but it was Uncle Wade's defense that won the AFC Championship.

Denver picked Tom Brady off two times and sacked him four times.  Brady was never allowed to get to his spots like he has in so many playoff wins in his illustrious career.

Phillips will be taking his former Pro Bowl Cowboys defender DeMarcus Ware with him. Ware signed in Denver after being released by Dallas after the 2013 season.
