Former Cowboy Terence Newman Joins the Vikings

Newman will be reunited with former Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer

Former Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman will be reunited with former Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer this season in Minnesota.

On Thursday, Newman signed a one-year deal with the Vikings worth $2.5 million, $750,000 of which is guaranteed money, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.

Zimmer was the Cowboys defensive coordinator when the team drafted Newman with the fifth overall pick out of Kansas State in the 2003 Draft. He spent four seasons playing under Zimmer in Dallas and, when the Cowboys released him after the 2011 season, he joined Zimmer in Cincinnati.

The two spent two years together as Bengals, in 2012 and 2013, before Zimmer left to take over as Vikings head coach last season.
