Forbes: Cowboys Still Most Valuable NFL Franchise

The Cowboys are also the fifth most valuable franchise in the world

The Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable football club in the world and the fifth most valuable franchise overall, Forbes reports this week.

The only American team leading the Cowboys was the New York Yankees ($2.3 billion), who come in fourth in the annual listing, behind European soccer clubs Real Madrid ($3.3 billion), Manchester United ($3.2 billion) and Barcelona ($2.6 billion).

With an estimated value of $2.1 billion the Cowboys are the most valuable NFL franchise by a pretty large margin. The Patriots ($1.63 billion) comes the closest to Dallas of any NFL team, followed by Dallas rivals, the Washington Redskins ($1.6 billion) and New York Giants ($1.468 billion).

Forbes added that Dallas has been the league’s most valuable franchise since 2007.
