Former Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones was one of the players to take part in the inaugural veteran combine over the weekend, and he had kind of a rough day.
A first round pick by the Cowboys out of Arkansas in 2008, Jones recorded 40-yard dash times of 4.79 and 4.85 on Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. This is a few steps off of the 4.47 he recorded at the combine prior to the 2008 Draft, but that shouldn’t come as any surprise, considering he was out of football all of last year.
Still just 27, Jones spent five seasons with the Cowboys but never could establish himself as a reliable feature back. After the Cowboys cut ties with Jones, he played sparingly in one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013.
