Fantasy Land: Studs and Duds, Week 1

A two-time champion in a hardcore keeper league, including some know-it-all media "experts," Adam Boedeker gives his fantasy expertise on a weekly basis.

Stud of the Week

Frank Gore, RB, SF — Sorry, Cowboys defense. It's just not looking too promising for you guys, and the hard-running veteran is going to take advantage of the situation. Gore might be on his last leg, but we've been saying that for a few years now and he continues to pile up statistics. Even if it's true this time around, any back with a pulse should be able to have a good day against the Cowboys' defense. In fact, look for Dallas opponents to show up here quite often this season.

Honorable mention: Colin Kaepernick, SF (at DAL); Tony Romo, DAL (vs. SF); Joique Bell, DET (vs. NYG); Terrance Williams, DAL (vs. SF).

Dud of the Week

Aaron Rodgers, QB, GB — Look, you better have a pretty great alternative to actually sit Rodgers, who's easily a top-3 fantasy quarterback along with the likes of Drew Brees and Peyton Manning. But if you do, you might want to consider doing so. Rodgers kicks the season off against Seattle's rock-solid defense in the hornet's nest that is Seattle's CenturyLink Field. Expect this to be one of Rodgers' worst games of the year.

Honorable mention: Keenan Allen, SD (at ARI); T.Y. Hilton, IND (at DEN); Reggie Wayne, IND (at DEN); Trent Richardson, IND (at DEN)
