Fantasy Land: Stud and Dud for Week 15

In what will be a weekly occurence, we'll give suggestions on who to start in your fantasy league, and who to sit on the bench. We'll try to avoid stating the obvious, like "start Tom Brady" and dig a little deeper for some less obvious choices. Enough with the introduction, let's get started...

Stud of the Week: Andy Dalton, QB, CIN โ€” Andy Dalton has been a pleasant surprise after being thrown into the fire as the starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals when Carson Palmer ditched the team. Dalton's teamed up with fellow rookie A.J. Green, a wide receiver out of Georgia, to form a pretty stellar quarterback-receiver combination that the Bengals can look forward to having for years to come. This week, Dalton draws a great matchup with possibly the worst team in the league, the St. Louis Rams. Look for Dalton and Green to both have big games as Dalton might enter the week as a top-10 quarterback.

Dud of the Week: Frank Gore, RB, SF โ€” Frank Gore owners are hyperventilating a little bit right now. I know that because I am one. Gore went through a great stretch in the middle of the season when he went five straight games with at least 100 yards on the ground. Since then he's been battling nagging injuries and has seen his workload decrease some in favor of rookie Kendall Hunter. He had over 70 yards and a touchdown last week against Arizona but had just two carries after that third-quarter score. Now it gets even worse because the 49ers will play Pittsburgh and their Steel Curtain defense. It's not shaping up to be a very good week for the veteran runner.
