Experience Sorely Lacking For Dallas Receiving Corps

After a season of injuries to the Dallas Cowboys receiving corps, Miles Austin finds himself the only healthy receiver on the roster with any experience--and we’re not using that phrase “any experience” loosely.

As ESPN Dallas points out today, no other healthy receiver with the Cowboys has ever recorded a reception in the NFL.

Currently, Dallas’ receivers not struggling to return from some ailment include Miles Austin, who we all know, Manny Johnson and Teddy Williams. The Oklahoma product Johnson has been active for some time now but has yet to record a catch. Williams was only activated this week, and didn’t even play college football--at UTEP, he was a track star.

Roy Williams missed the team’s week 15 victory over the Washington Redskins with a groin injury. He was active for the Christmas Day loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but did not record a catch. Sam Hurd (headaches) and Jesse Holley (knee) are each struggling to recover as well. Dez Bryant (leg) and Kevin Ogletree (toe) are each done for the year.

To help get through the final week of the season, the Cowboys signed receiver Jeff Moturi to the practice squad.
