Dwayne Harris Earns NFC POW Honors

Harris' 78-yard punt return for a touchdown helped Dallas pull off a 38-23 victory over the Eagles last Sunday

Dwayne Harris was the best special teams player in all of the NFC last week, at least according to the NFL itself.

Harris was named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday, the first Cowboy to earn the honor since Bryan McCann did it way back in 2010. As you may remember, Harris helped the Cowboys to a crucial 38-23 victory over the Eagles in Philadelphia last Sunday with a 78-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Harris finished with a total of 97 yards on punt returns, for a 24.3 yard-per-return average and recorded a special teams tackle for good measure.

Aside from Harris, Tony Romo and Brandon Carr were nominated for offensive and defensive player of the week honors, respectively--but those went to the Saints’ Jimmy Graham and the Seahawks’ Richard Sherman, again respectively.
