Dez Sorry About Unsportsmanlike Penalty

Dez Bryant was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct in the first quarter of the win over St. Louis

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant fully expects to hear from NFL offices regarding the “throat-slash” motion he made after scoring a first quarter touchdown in the win over the Rams, and while he plans on appealing the fine that’s almost certainly coming his way, Bryant plans on minding his Ps & Qs next time he finds the end zone.

I shouldn’t have done it anyway. I never put anything with the X,” Bryant said, referring to his usual celebratory cross of the arms, per ESPN Dallas. “Do the X and go on.”

Head coach Jason Garrett told reporters after Sunday’s 31-7 victory that Bryant was quick to apologize for the gaffe.

“He said, ‘I screwed up. I’m sorry. It’s just a reaction I had. I won’t do it again,’” Garrett said. “What do you say to that? Let’s go to the next one."
