Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant fully expects to hear from NFL offices regarding the “throat-slash” motion he made after scoring a first quarter touchdown in the win over the Rams, and while he plans on appealing the fine that’s almost certainly coming his way, Bryant plans on minding his Ps & Qs next time he finds the end zone.
“I shouldn’t have done it anyway. I never put anything with the X,” Bryant said, referring to his usual celebratory cross of the arms, per ESPN Dallas. “Do the X and go on.”
Head coach Jason Garrett told reporters after Sunday’s 31-7 victory that Bryant was quick to apologize for the gaffe.
“He said, ‘I screwed up. I’m sorry. It’s just a reaction I had. I won’t do it again,’” Garrett said. “What do you say to that? Let’s go to the next one."
