Dez Bryant Uses Twitter To Recruit Deron Williams To Mavs

Williams is scheduled to meet with the Mavericks on Monday

One of the cooler things about the rise of Twitter is that athletes who may have never met or spoken to each other before have an avenue to talk about, well, whatever--which we’re pretty sure is the point of Twitter in the first place. This weekend, Dallas Cowboys’ receiver Dez Bryant used the social networking site as a recruiting tool, in hopes that he could help the Dallas Mavericks land free agent point guard (and native of The Colony) Deron Williams.

Per the Dallas Morning News, Bryant (@DezBryant) tweeted, “@DeronWilliams Dallas fans are waiting on your arrival” on Sunday night.

Whether this will help, we don’t know, but Dallas is hosting Williams this week as he decides between the Mavericks or the newly-renamed Brooklyn Nets, the only other team the point guard has said he was interested in. It should also be noted that Bryant isn't the only Dallas athlete to reach out to Williams; the Mavericks' Delonte West used Twitter to offer some encouragement as well.

Williams is expected to make a decision in the next week or so.
