Dez Bryant Held Out Again Against Vikings

Cowboys All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant has not played this preseason

Cowboys All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant was held out of Saturday’s preseason matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, but that didn’t come as too much of a surprise to anyone.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones declared earlier in the week that, with Bryant still nursing a hamstring issue, the team was leaning heavily toward giving him the night off--as they did in the preseason opener against the Chargers, and last week’s preseason loss to the 49ers.

Just didn’t think it was worth having him play eight, 10 plays in this ballgame,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told the team’s official website. “We didn’t practice yesterday. He got today (to rest); he warmed up before the game. He’ll have tomorrow; we don’t practice until Monday night.

“So we’ll take him day by day and just make sure that we give him every chance to be healthy when he comes back.”

No word on if Garrett and co. will attempt to get Bryant some snaps in the preseason finale against the Texans on Thursday in Arlington, but we wouldn’t bet on it.
