Deion: Seahawks' Play Call the Worst in Super Bowl History

Deion Sanders was left baffled by Seattle's decision to pass on 2nd-and-goal

Add Deion Sanders to the list of former Dallas Cowboys who were baffled by the Seattle Seahawks’ decision to pass on a 2nd-and-goal from the one-yard line on what would be their last offensive play.

Emmitt Smith took to Twitter after the game on Sunday night, and called the playcall the worst he’s ever seen. Sanders opined that it was the worst call, maybe not in the history of the game, but certainly in the history of the Super Bowl.

You have Marshawn Lynch in the backfield,” Sanders said on NFL Network after the 28-24 Patriots win, via the Dallas Morning News. “The best running back in football this season. And you chance it with a pass play? You called a pass play first of all, that was wrong. But to actually make that throw was the second wrong. Two wrongs on one play. Everyone is leaving the stadium saying, ‘Are you kidding me?’

“It’s the worst play call in Super Bowl history.”
