DeMarcus Ware Says He'll Play Against Saints

Ware is dealing with a shoulder injury, suffered in the win over the Steelers

This time last week, Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware was dealing with a hyper-extended elbow. Now, it’s a shoulder injury that’s bothering the All-Pro, but he’s confident that the injury won’t keep him out of the team’s matchup with the New Orleans Saints in Arlington.

I feel good enough to play next week,” Ware said, per the Dallas Morning News. “You get bumps and bruises here and there, elbow and shoulder, whatever it is, I just have to get out there and play.”

Ware hasn’t missed any time this season while dealing with a series of minor injuries, which makes him stick out on a defense that has lost a half dozen starters for the season.

“This is the closest team I’ve been on in any year I’ve been here,” Ware said. “I’ve been here eight years. You have guys who are out. We had six starters out on defense. You have guys who are taking their spots and filling their roles and it’s really not about the name on the back of your jersey, it’s about how all 11 guys get together, play together, about that passion, that intensity. This December, it’s been a whole different team.”
