Dallas Signs Cumberland TE Stewart

BJ Stewart became the 16th undrafted free agent signed by the Cowboys on Monday

Cumberland (Tennessee) tight end BJ Stewart has signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent, Stewart tweeted on Monday.

The 6-foot-4 former defensive end was moved last season and promptly led the team in catches with 21, going for 396 yards and five touchdowns. He also wrestled for Cumberland, and was even ranked the No. 1 heavyweight in the nation for a short time.

It really is a dream come true,” Cumberland said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Being a kid, my family always told me I would play in the NFL, so it’s just a dream come true.”

With Cumberland in the fold, Dallas has now signed 16 free agents since the conclusion of the draft.
