Dallas Gets Some Help From Washington

The Redskins defeated the Giants, 23-10 on Sunday

The Dallas Cowboys’ playoff hopes got an unexpected boost on Sunday when the Washington Redskins upset the New York Giants, 23-10, at MetLife Stadium.

Now, the Cowboys can clinch the division title next week, if they beat the Philadelphia Eagles and the Giants lose to the New York Jets, who are fresh off of a beat-down at the hands of those Eagles. Of course, if the Giants win out, they’ll still win the division.

The Cowboys could end up in the playoffs via a wild card spot if they lose one of their last two games, but this would require the cooperation from the Falcons and Lions.

All of which is to say that the Cowboys still have to take care of business to finish the season in the playoffs. But for now, thanks to an improbable Redskins’ victory, Dallas’ playoff hopes are looking a lot brighter than they did at this time a week ago.
