Cutler, Hot Celeb Girlfriend Don't Want “Jessica Simpson Problem”

In a piece in today’s Chicago Sun-Times, a so-called “close friend” of Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler and celebrity girlfriend Kristin Cavallari discussed the relationship between the two and, in doing so, added a sort of jab to Jessica Simpson, ex-girlfriend of Dallas’ Tony Romo.

According to the friend, Cutler and Cavallari “don’t want to have a Jessica Simpson problem.”

Simpson was somewhat famously seen in a pink no. 9 Cowboys’ jersey during an ugly loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in December of 2007, and, afterward, was made something of a pariah by fans and the media.

Of course, these charges were likely overblown, but that hasn’t stopped Cutallari (our new name for the celeb couple) from using the Romo-Simpson dynamic (or “Rompson” dynamic) as an example of how not to behave.

There’s been no word as to whether Cavallari will attend this Sunday’s NFC championship game between the Bears and the Packers, but one thing is sure: Kristin totally stole Stephen away from L.C., the girl with whom he was so clearly meant to be. Oh, that, and she’ll do her best to not be a distraction.

“But if she does show up this weekend, you can bet she will do nothing to interfere with Jay’s preparation for that game,” the source said. “She wants him to focus on winning as much as any diehard Bear fan.”
