Crazy Stat O' The Night: Kitna Out-Rushes Vick

In a showdown of top ten rushing quarterbacks, Michael Vick got the best of the 38-year-old Jon Kitna, leading his Eagles to a 30-27 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. He was also statistically better than Kitna, though only slightly so, going 16 for 26 passing for 270 yards, where Kitna was 24 for 35 for 242. Each had two touchdowns and two interceptions.

But Kitna, one of the few players in the league who remembers the Reagan administration, beat Vick in one, really surprising category: rushing.

The ultra-mobile Vick, who is often described as a โ€œrunning back playing quarterback,โ€ had 16 carries for 8 yards; Kitna had just three carries, but went for 27 yards, and was actually the teamโ€™s third leading rusher on the night. 17 of these yards came on a run on a fourth-and-seven in the fourth quarter.

Moments later, he hit Jason Witten for a touchdown to close the deficit to three with less than five minutes remaining on the clock.
