Cowboys Waive DT Austin, Sign Everett Dawkins

Marvin Austin played a single game for the Cowboys before suffering a back injury

The game of musical chairs that is the Dallas Cowboys defensive line just keeps on going.

On Tuesday, the Cowboys waived/injured defensive tackle Marvin Austin, who played all of a game for the team after signing as an injury replacement on October 21. Austin suffered a back injury last week that was serious enough that he couldn’t finish practice on Friday. He was inactive for the win over the Vikings.

To replace the replacement, on Wednesday, Dallas signed Everett Dawkins (pictured) off the Vikings practice squad. Dawkins, 23, was selected in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Florida State, but never played in a game.

In other roster moves, the Cowboys added defensive lineman Hall Davis and offensive lineman Phillipkeith Manley to the practice squad.
