Cowboys VP: Jerry Ultimately In Charge of Draft Board

Jerry Jones has ultimate say when it comes to the Cowboys' big board

Like any other any team in the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys rely on a large committee of coaches, scouts and front office members to put together their draft board. But according to executive vice president Stephen Jones, his father Jerry Jones is ultimately in charge.

Jerry is in charge of the board,” the younger Jones said this week, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “The final board... Jerry is in charge of it.”

This isn’t a huge surprise. Jerry Jones has always been and will always be very hands-on with his team--and we’re never short on reminders that, yes, it is HIS team.

Among those who will play a key role alongside Jerry in making the big board are head coach Jason Garrett, college scouting director Tom Ciskowski and assistant director of player personnel Will McClay.
