Cowboys Trail ‘Skins at Half, 24-14

The Cowboys scored 14 unaswered to end the first half

After getting off to a very ugly start, the Cowboys scored a pair of touchdowns late in the first half against the Redskins, and go to half trailing the division champs 24-14.

The Redskins posted 24 points to open the game, with Kirk Cousins hitting Ryan Grant, Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder for touchdowns in the first quarter. Washington’s Dustin Hopkins would add a 27-yard field goal in the second to extend the lead to 24-0 before the Cowboys showed a little life.

Late in the second quarter, Kellen Moore hit Jason Witten on a four-yard touchdown pass to cap a nine-play, 80-yard drive and get the Cowboys on the board, at 24-7. After the defense came up with a stop, Moore and co. drove 86 yards on seven plays, scoring on a touchdown pass from Moore to Cole Beasley to make it 24-14.

Moore is 17-of-22 for 202 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on the day.
