Cowboys Staff Working with QB Carson Wentz at Senior Bowl

The Cowboys staff is coaching the North team in the annual Senior Bowl this month

Senior Bowl rosters were announced on Thursday, and the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff is going to get the chance to work with North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz, who has become something of a small school darling ahead of the draft.

It’s far from unanimous among draft experts that Went will even be a first round pick, but if the Cowboys’ staff falls in love with him over the week of practice, who knows, they could make the North Dakota State quarterback the fourth overall pick—or maybe, if they can get Wentz down the board, trade down from the No. 4 pick and land their guy there.

The other quarterbacks the Cowboys staff will work with are Stanford’s Kevin Hogan and USC’s Cody Kessler, each of whom carries some name recognition but are projected to go in the mid-rounds.

This marks the first time the Cowboys’ staff has coached the Senior Bowl since 1965, when Tom Landry and co. coached the South team to a 7-7 tie with the North.
