Cowboys Sign Three, Including Lawrence Okoye

The Cowboys also waived three players to make room for the newcomers

Jack Crawford is no longer the only Englishman on the Dallas Cowboys’ roster, or even the defensive line, after the team made a series of roster moves this week, including the signing of Lawrence Okoye.

The team's official website announced the roster moves on Wednesday.

Okoye holds the English record for the discus throw, and represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He participated in the Combine in 2013 and was ultimately signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers.

After two years with the 49ers, Okoye was among final cuts last year and moved on to the Cardinals for a little over a month, and then the Jets. He was waived by the Jets a week ago. He still has never recorded a tackle in an NFL game.

In order to make room for Okoye and the other two signings this week, of offensive tackle Bryan Witzmann and linebacker Brandon Hepburn, the Cowboys waived offensive tackle Justin Renfrow, linebacker Jerrell Harris and defensive end Caleb Azubike.
