Cowboys Sign LB Balogun Off Waivers

The Dallas Morning News reports that the Cowboys signed linebacker Mike Balogun off waivers on Monday, after the University of Oklahoma product was released by the Buffalo Bills last week.

Balogun was a standout at inside linebacker for the Sooners before being declared ineligible by the NCAA  prior to the 2009 season, for reportedly playing in an unpaid semi-pro league after turning 21-years-old.

After going undrafted in 2010, Balogun spent training camp with the San Francisco 49ers but fell among the team’s final cuts. He made quick stops in Washington and Tampa Bay--a member of the teams’ respective practice squads--before landing with the Buffalo Bills, the team with which he’d spend most of the season and appear in his first two games, mostly as a member of special teams.
