Cowboys Sign Brewster, Waive Carter, Activate Anderson

Dallas finally signed tackle Robert Brewster yesterday, the only remaining unsigned draft pick.

Of course, Brewster is probably out for the season after tearing a pectoral muscle in an offseason workout, so he will head directly to the PUP list. The Ball State product figured to see limited action this year as he was groomed behind Marc Colombo, and he is said to be an able blocker as either a tackle or a guard.

Brewster spent most of his time in offseason workouts at right tackle.

In order to make room on the roster for Brewster, the team waived defensive back Jerome Carter.

Carter, a former 4th rounder out of Florida State, played 14 games for St. Louis in 2006. After an injury plagued sophomore season in 2007, Carter spent 2008 out of football.

Dallas also activated defensive tackle Tim Anderson from the PUP list on Wednesday.

Anderson will be held to one-a-day sessions until he is back at full strength, though he is a longshot to make the team.
