Cowboys Send Phil Costa To IR

The Cowboys' center has made just three starts this year

Phil Costa has been dealing with injury issues since offseason OTAs. On Wednesday, the Cowboys put him on the injured reserve, officially ending the man who was slated to start at center for Dallas in 2012’s season.

Ryan Cook has returned to action this week, after a couple weeks of Mackenzy Bernadeau taking the snaps at center. Costa started in three games this year, including the season-opener, but couldn’t seem to make it through a game as he dealt with ankle issues.

It was a partially dislocated ankle that ended Costa’s year, and he is the sixth starter the Cowboys have lost due to injury this year.

Costa will be a restricted free agent after this season.
