Forbes: Cowboys Remain Atop NFL in Terms of Value, at $2.1 Billion

English soccer club Manchester United remains the most valuable in the world, with an estimated worth of $3.3 billion

The Dallas Cowboys remain the most valuable sports franchise in America, but they’re falling further and further behind the most valuable franchise in the world, Manchester United of the English Premier League, which--Forbes reported this week--has become the first pro sports franchise in history to be valued at north of $3 billion.

According to Forbes, Man U is worth a whopping $3.3 billion. The Cowboys, meanwhile, sit atop the NFL in terms of worth, but are more than a billion dollars less valuable than United, with an estimated worth of $2.1 billion.

As the Dallas Morning News points out, a key difference between Man U and the Dallas Cowboys that no doubt has an effect on this sort of thing is the fact that stock in Man U is traded publicly; this, of course, isn’t the case in Dallas, where Jerry Jones seems to enjoy owning all of his football team.
