Cowboys Release Akwasi Owusu-Ansah

The team now has just six draft picks from the 2009 and 2010 draft classes on the active roster

The Dallas Cowboys cut safety turned receiver and sometimes return man Akwasi Owusu-Ansah today, making AOA the latest casualty of the 2009 and 2010 draft classes for Dallas.

The move was made in order to make room for fullback Shaun Chapas, who will presumably replace Tony Fiammetta, who is battling an undisclosed illness and has missed the past two games. Also, the team has reportedly signed running back Chauncey Washington to the practice squad.

With the release of AOA, Dallas has just six draftees out of 18 from 2009 and 2010 on the active roster, with Stephen McGee, Victor Butler, John Phillips (from 2009), Dez Bryant, Sean Lee and Sean Lissemore (2010) comprising the group.
