Cowboys Promote Sendejo To Active Roster

The Dallas Cowboys promoted rookie safety Andrew Sendejo from the practice squad to the active roster on Monday, less than a week after signing the Rice product to a a practice squad deal.

In order to make room for the safety, the team cut defensive lineman Jimmy Saddler-McQueen.

Sendejo played for the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL in their first and, so far, only season, recording 48 tackles and two interceptions, as well as seven pass deflections. Normally, Dallas would have to pay the UFL a $150,000 transfer fee, but because the team originally signed him to the practice squad, that fee was waived.

Alex Daniels, a fullback / defensive end who was cut last week, will return to the practice squad.
