Cowboys Pro Bowlers Split Between Rice, Sanders

Three of the five Cowboys Pro Bowlers were selected to Team Rice this week

Three of the five Dallas Cowboys in the Pro Bowl will suit up for Jerry Rice.

The Hall of Fame receiver selected running back DeMarco Murray, left tackle Tyron Smith and defensive tackle Jason Hatcher to Team Rice. Deion’s Team Sanders landed wide receiver Dez Bryant and tight end Jason Witten. For the offensive players on Deion’s squad, this could provide a glimpse of the near future as they’ll face Hatcher, who will most likely depart in free agency this offseason.

This marks the first year the Pro Bowl has not been an NFC Vs. AFC affair. Rather, in an effort to drum up more interest in the exhibition, team captains Sanders and Rice participated in a playground-style, two-day draft.

Fans will have to wait until Sunday to find out if the changes will make the usually unwatchable game a little more palatable. But if we had to guess, no, they won’t.
