Cowboys Make it Official with Uche Nwaneri

Nwaneri officially signed with the Cowboys on Friday

The addition of veteran guard Uche Nwaneri became official on Friday, with the Dallas Cowboys sending guard Tyronne Green to the reserved/injured list to make room for Nwaneri on the 90-man roster.

The two sides had agreed to terms on Tuesday of last week.

Nwaneri was released by the Jaguars in March to free up cap space. What his role with the Cowboys will be is still unclear, but there seems a good chance he’ll serve as a backup swing guard behind right guard Zack Martin and whoever wins the starting job on the left side--either Mackenzy Bernadeau or, the starter last year, Ronald Leary.

A fifth round pick by Jacksonville in 2007, Nwaneri has been a starter for six of his seven seasons in the NFL.
