The Dallas Cowboys haven't said they're looking to move on from Brandon Weeden as their backup quarterback after just one season, but after his performance when called upon last year, it's safe to say they might be looking to do so.
Weeden made one start last year when Tony Romo missed a game against the Arizona Cardinals, and it was an utter disaster for the Cowboys' offense.
Now, 35-year-old Shaun Hill is apparently on the Cowboys' radar after he became a free agent as a former pupil of Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan from their days in Minnesota and Detroit.
Hill has been a proven winner as a backup quarterback in the league and started eight games for the St. Louis Rams last year after Sam Bradford was lost early in the year.
“We’re not at all giving up on Weeden,” Jerry Jones told reporters at the scouting combine, “but we just need to do what we’re paid to do and that is really look at what we’ve got at backup quarterback.”
